How Does ToltHawk Sewer Sensor Work?
Our devices are equipped with several types of sensors to measure the sewer level, flow, temperature, and H2S gas ppm.
Sewage Level
Sewage level in the line is measured by a 3D laser imager. While traditional ultrasonic sensors cannot distinguish the bench from the sewage flow and can only measure the sewage level when its rises above the bench. ToltHawk’s uses 3D laser sensors which creates a contour of the base of the manhole and therefore it can precisely measure the actual sewage level even under normal conditions when its level is below the bench.
H2S Gas Concentration
Our devices can measure the concentration of H2S gas which is an indication of the sewer line’s health.
Thermal Image
The thermal image of the sewage shows subtle changes in temperature of the line due to I&I, illegal dumping, and customer’s usage patterns.
Data Transmission
Data is transmitted via cellular network several times a day and immidiately if a threshold level is breached
Alerts
User can set threshold levels of alerts. Anytime the sewer line’s level rises above any of the threshold levels, an alert is immidiately sent to the user.
